National Commodore’s Vision Statement

The Coast Guard Auxiliary - rising to meet America's changing maritime safety and security challenges, while concurrently bringing to the American public an array of homeland security, recreational boating and marine safety programs.

 The Mission of Flotilla 24-09

As part of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Fifth District (Southern Region), the mission of Flotilla 24-09, Bowie-Davidsonville, is to contribute to the safety and security of our citizens, ports, waterways and coastal regions. We will support the requirements of Recreational Boating Safety, Coast Guard Support, and Maritime Homeland Security by providing boating safety education, vessel safety examinations and marine dealer visits in central Maryland, and particularly in the Bowie-Davidsonville area, by providing boating safety patrols and other on-the-water missions in support of the Coast Guard in the Middle Chesapeake Bay regions, including the South, West and Rhodes Rivers and Herring Bay, and through support to other Coast Guard missions as the need arises.
